As a wedding blog addict and a sweet tooth, I always love checking out the gorgeous cakes that are shared by real brides. But I like seeing what goes on top even more – I’m talking about cake toppers. Forget the standard bride and groom, these days you can expect to find banner, lovebirds and pretty much anything you can think of.
Having a guestbook at your wedding sounds pretty straightforward – pen, book, table, DONE. But if you give it an extra second of thought, you’ll realise there are so many fun and creative ways for guests to share their messages of love – and they don’t all come in book form.
Monet has always been one of my favourite artists. In fact when I was in Year Three, I tried to paint myself into one of his artworks. And before you start thinking I’m crazy, it was for a school project where we were asked to do a self portrait. Sadly, my teacher didn’t think it was very creative to copy“reproduce” a masterpiece and then just add myself to it… so I added a few blotchy ducks and patted myself on the back.
Imagine this: in 20 years you’re flicking through your wedding photos, it’s all pastels and white – except for your burgundy nails. Yep, with your wedding dress as a backdrop, bright nails will stand out big time. So if you don’t want you and your maids’ fingers to be the centre of attention, I think it’s a good idea to skip the brights and go for pastels and neutrals. But that doesn’t mean they have to be a bore!
The miserable weather is making everything look grey and dull, and the dreary atmosphere has me craving some colour. Lucky for me, the playful and gorgeous wedding ideas on my inspiration board below are just the pop of rainbow I need. In fact, they’re downright refreshing!
A few years ago, a lot of people noticed a very large wedding-sized whole in the app market and they all rushed to fill it at once. Within a year wedding apps were flooding the market. But now there are so many that it’s hard to tell the duds from the lifesavers! So to save you time and energy, I thought I’d share a few of my faves with you.

And whether you loved the flick or hated it, I think we can all agree the set and costumes were breathtakingly lush. The movie totally captured the glitz and glamour of the roaring twenties with lavish amounts of gold thrown in for good measure.
I don’t know about you but giving speeches is high on my Please Don’t Make Me Do It List. I dread it. In fact the general rule is if I’m speaking in public, I’m in agony. But there is one exception: when I’m a Bridesmaid I relish – yes, relish – the chance to toast the newlyweds. Why?
