INSPIRATION: GILDED GLAMOUR WITH A TWIST

Rich, romantic and sumptuous, Baz Luhrmann’s The Great Gatsby took a very literal approach to the Golden Age. And whether you loved the flick or hated it, I think we can all agree the set and costumes were breathtakingly lush. The movie totally captured the glitz and glamour of the roaring twenties with lavish amounts of gold thrown in for good measure.
Personally, it was a total eye opener for me. I’ve never been into dripping myself or my surrounding in gold – and never on a Gatsby scale. I’ve always steered clear of anything I deemed OTT, and well, trashy. But now I’m seeing things in a new light and I’ve realized a few touches of OTT won’t totally kill a design – it can make it.
While The Great Gatsby kicked off my journey of enlightenment, it was scouring the web for this inspiration board that really had me convinced that gilded glamour could be a beautiful and elegant thing. It even inspired me to included a few off our own bridesmaid dresses (in orderTiana, Meryl, Carlotta, Anika) that I think would look incredible with this trend.
