Invitations
“Our invitations were letterpress on ivory card with pink detail.”
Flowers
“Pink and ivory David Austin roses.”
Ceremony
“Our ceremony was a full Catholic wedding. We had a candle ceremony during the mass to signify the joining of our two families. We wanted to include our mums, as we are both very close to them, so they both lit a candle each at the beginning of our ceremony. After Patrick and I had said our vows we both lit another candle from the two our mum’s had lit to signify the joining of the two families. “My mum had organised as a surprise for the church bells to be rung after the ceremony. My husband and I had a couple of seconds outside by ourselves before everyone came to greet us just listening to the church bells ringing. Magic moment!”
Reception
“Our first dance was to Michael Bublé’s ‘Crazy Love’. We have both always loved Michael Bublé and this song just seemed to fit. I had a good beat to dance to. We took a few dancing lessons in the weeks leading up to our wedding, which were a really nice way to escape from the craziness of the wedding planning and just spend some time together. “For some fun our photographer organised to take some fun photos with us and our guests at the reception. We had a red velvet background and bought some dress up props for everyone to use. The result were candid, silly, photos of our guests.”
Decorations
“We had a long mirror on the bridal table with pillar candles and pale pink and ivory David Austin roses. On each of the round guest tables we chose round mirrors with tea-light candles and pale pink standard roses.”
Favours
“My Parents own a macadamia farm up on the far north coast of NSW, so when we were deciding on the bonboniere my Dad came up with the idea of using chocolate-coated macadamia nuts from our farm. We got some little clear boxes and filled them with the nuts and tied them up with the same pale pink string we used for our order of service booklet.”
Wedding cake
“Our wedding cake was three tiered with creamy icing and decorated with beautiful fresh David Austin roses on top”
