Coral Crush
Introducing Pantone’s 2019 Colour of the Year… coral! ‘Living Coral’ to be precise. Or, to be even more precise: “16-1546”.
Dessy are clearly one of our design teams ahead of the curve, with a range of their 2019 sample styles (due in store in early January) coming in a coral shade we adore called ‘firecracker – perfect coral’. We’re sure some of our other designers will launch coral-esque offerings soon.
Feeling inspired to crush on coral? Coral works well for Spring weddings, or to inject a real splash of colour into any wedding!
While it can be tricky to match flowers identically to the shade of coral you need, a deeper red, or white blooms will draw out the brightness of the coral. Think peonies, anemones and David Austin roses, each teamed with grey/green foliage. Gorgeous!
Complimentary colours include sage (or any grey/green), turquoise, navy and sand. While we wouldn’t recommend incorporating all of these colours (colour overload!), mixing one of these with coral and crisp white can help bring all the elements together.
